Eba Climate Ltd is a company registered in England Reg No. 6838783
Under EU ozone regulations EC2037 / 2000
The key points are:
From January 2010 the use of virgin (new) R22 is banned.
The use of recycled R22 is still permissible for maintenance purposes until the end of 2014. However, there is no guarantee on the quality and availability of the refrigerant and industry experts are predicting stocks of recycled R22 to be depleted well before the end of 2014 which will inevitably result in a steep increase in the cost of the available refrigerant.
Equipment using R22, while efficient at the time of installation, uses considerably more energy than the latest air conditioning equipment utilising non-HCFC refrigerants, such as R410a and R407c, in some instances this reduction can be as much as 50%.
If you own air conditioning equipment currently operating on R22 refrigerant, we would advise reviewing your options to minimise the impact on your organisation, both operationally and financially.
EBA Climate has extensive experience in assisting customers plan for the R22 phase-out. We can provide you with an audit of your existing systems which will enable us to determine the most suitable way forward to ensure your company complies with current legislation but also save money through significantly reduced energy costs.
